Tanju Özelgin

Born in Istanbul in 1962, Tanju Özelgin is a renowned Turkish industrial designer and interior architect. He earned his degree in Industrial Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in 1984.
In 1987, Özelgin founded his first design studio, Scala, working on exhibition stands, yachts, showrooms, private residences, offices, special event concepts, furniture, and industrial products. Between 1993 and 1995, he co-founded IN Furniture, contributing to the evolution of contemporary design. In 1996, together with Ertan Binme, he established Parlak Kırmızı Design Studio, focusing on interior design, industrial product development, and digital and video graphics.
Since 2005, Özelgin has been operating under his own brand, TO (Tanju Özelgin), specializing in industrial product design and interior architecture projects. His career includes collaborations with leading brands such as Nurus, Derin, B&T Design, Birim, and Crea Concept. In addition to his professional practice, he has been actively involved in design education as a lecturer and project consultant since 1998.
Among his most notable works, the S House in Istanbul stands out as a prime example of modern and innovative design, featuring a creative use of natural light and a harmonious blend of materials such as natural stone and wooden surfaces.
Özelgin has participated in numerous exhibitions as a jury member, exhibitor, and workshop director, significantly shaping the landscape of industrial design and interior architecture in Turkey and beyond.
